I thought the rockies were a bit rockier..... that john denver is full of crap

I just got back from the first ski trip of the year. Ban, Nick and I went to Crested Butte, funny name i know, and I will try to talk about the trip without using any puns. Anyways we went there cause there was free snowboarding. It was a funny trip.First off there was the crazy drive up there. the freaking temperature dropped to -23 degrees!!!!!

Thats a picture of nicks thermometer in his car.... I tried to get on of the lower ones but the car was shaking too much. We got the mountain at three 'o clock in the morning. 

We kicked it there and rode for a few days which was a lot of fun.... especially since it was free. Oh hey funny story..... we thought about going and seeing "I Am Legend" and ben hopped outta Nick's car a slipped and nick didn't know it and ran over Ben's foot..... it was awesome cause Ben was perfectly fine, which is by the grace of God hahaha.

Anyways we left the mountain and went to Black Hawk, Colorado, which is Colorado's funny version of Las Vegas. I ended up trying to play Texas Hold-em in the poker parlor. I realized I was in trouble when one of the guy's across the table from me guessed my hand three times in a row....... I lost ninety dollars. It was sad......

Went went on from there and ate at Cheesecake Factory and spent the night with one of Nick's cousins. We woke up this morning and stated our journey back, making a short one hour stop to scratch off about 12 Colorado state lottery tickets...... we lost some more money to the vice of gambling...... a vice that continued when we reached the state of Texas. We finally got back to Midland at midnight.

Oh..... and i got a sweet new beanie......

SCHOOLS OUT FOR......... a while.

So i finished my last final today... errr.... yesterday. Why is it that the last test is always the hardest? because my statistics test sucked! Let me paint a picture for you. This is basically how it went down. I walked into the lecture hall and sat down. My test saw me coming, sprouted legs walked right up the isle and started beating me senseless, then took my wallet and all my money and turned around walked back down the isle and turned itself in. Leaving me bloody and battered sitting in my chair with a horrified student body staring at me...... Sounds like fun huh?

After that me and Lee went to the rec and played some racquetball, which I always get schooled in..... but on the last game I actually did really good. I only lost 17 to 21, which is a major leap from my usual 3 or 4 points. I was happy with it.

I'm back in Midland now, listening to christmas music and getting ready for thursday cause I'm going to Crested Butte for some snowboard action!!!!!!

AVA, Pizza, Bowling, the Mountains, and Jobs

I bought the the new Angels & Airwaves CD a few weeks ago and only really listened to it a little, which is strange because I'm a huge fan of them. Today I listened through the entire album..... and then listened to it another three or four times.... I love it...... especially the song "secret crowds". You should definitely check it out. Apparently, the band is also making a motion picture to go along with the album, I saw a preview for it on their website today and it looks pretty good.

It's 2 am and I want Pizza....... 

I went bowling with with my friends and some parents. It was fun. I've come to the conclusion that I am not good at bowling and never will be good at bowling. I decided that the gave is only fun when you make it as ridiculous as possible. Oh and the guys in the lane next to us were eating pepperoni pizza, which is the source of my desire.....

I have such little school left it is ridiculous and its killing me cause I am so ready to be done and be in the mountains. I admit, it's going to be weird to be by myself for most of the time I am there, but I am excited cause hopefully I am going to meet some new people. Not that the friends I have now aren't any fun, I love them and wish I could take them with me. But I feel that I have met everyone I am going to meet in Midland and that bums me out. You ever feel that way?

Oh, and I am open to any suggestions about the job I should get while I am in Colorado. I am thinking about working at the Starbucks in Breckenridge, because I think it would be a pretty cool way to meet people. Any other suggestions?

 

Not Thanksgiving....... not quite Christmas

I was driving tonight and there's a whole lotta houses with Christmas lights and everything...... I love Christmas, but i feel weird about getting in the Christmas spirit when its not even December. Feeling weird does not stop me though, Relient K's new Christmas album has been playing pretty much non-stop since I bought it. I only have two days of class left, then I am outta school and begging my adventure. Speaking of which, with all the free time I'm going to have, and with the writers strike going on, I thought I would invest in a few season of television shows. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not really feeling comedy.... I've seen just about every episode of Seinfeld, Friends, Arrested Development, and most of the Office, and I don't think that anything can really top that, so any comedy is going to be a disappointment to me. I'm thinking something Dramatic.....Oh by the way I started a fire before I went to sleep last night thinking that if someone stop by they could put it out when they were leaving, but no one stopped by, and my Blog Cabin almost burned to the ground......

As you know I will be moving to the mountain soon to go snowboarding..... and I figured that I would need something to do while i was by myself for four months, thus the Blog Cabin came into existence....... I was going to wait till I actually moved before I started this, but sometimes I get excited about things and I get impatient....
